It’s that time of year when we start finding ways to intentionally scare ourselves silly, so if you’re into that, the Hudson Valley is where it’s at. All kinds of “scariest attractions” lists are popping up all over the Internet, like this one from the Times-Herald Record. No surprise that Headless Horseman Hayride Ulster Park and Kevin McCurdy’s Haunted Mansion in Poughkeepsie were both included (they’re always included on every list, and for good reason. They’re scary). But there are other places to get your fright on, such as Sterling Forest in Tuxedo (home of the state Renaissance Fair) and Pure Terror Scream Park in Monroe. Wanna double on the scream factor? Then maybe Zombie Ziplining at Big Bear Ziplines in Hyde Park is more your speed, or the perfect way to conquer both your acrophobia and kinemortophobia while racing up to speeds of 30 mph through the darkness. Any other good haunted attractions you know of? Let us know.
