Five-Figure Friday: Townhouse in Newburgh, $74,000
Kandy Harris | November 29, 2013This week’s Five-Figure offering is brought to you by the Colonial Terrace neighborhood in Newburgh. Built as housing for ship builders during WWI, Colonial Terrace is comprised of Farrell Street, 3rd Street, Lilly Street, Bennett Street, and a little bit of Wilson Street. You can read a bit more about the neighborhood here on Newburgh Restoration’s page. It’s not as close to the waterfront as other properties we’ve looked at this week, but the neighborhood is nice, and this townhouse seems like a great bargain. Size clocks in at over 1,000 square feet and includes 3 beds, hard wood floors, and a full basement. Also includes a small back yard. The entire neighborhood was designed by Henry Wright as part of the Garden City Movement as a means to alleviate congestion by incorporating “greenbelts” into urban planning.
