Ghent Farmhouse, $645,000
Upstater | October 19, 2012Set far back from the road, but close to the Taconic (hopefully not so close that you can hear it, but close enough to shorten your drive), this Greek revival farmhouse sure does look enticing to us. Barns and old stone walls, a two-bedroom guest house, and 50+ acres on which to roam. It’s the real deal.
Our one moment of circumspection is in regards to the kitchen — we can hardly see it in the photos, and what we see doesn’t quite match the grandness of the rest of the place. Easy enough to make a few cosmetic upgrades there, and we’re pretty sure you wouldn’t care anyway, what with everything else you’d be getting with the lovely farmhouse. Four beds, four baths, 4,000 square feet, built in 1800. Taxes, per Property Shark, look to be in the $10,000 range, which actually seems very low to us for this much house and this much land.
1230 Harlemville Road, Ghent, NY. $645,000. GMAP.
