Dutchess County Residents: Higher Taxes, Please
Upstater | July 16, 2012Well, that’s not exactly what they said. They said they’d be willing to pay higher taxes to keep or improve services, reports the Daily Freeman. Seventy-six percent of the 1,652 residents surveyed said they’d pay an increase of as much as 7% in property tax in exchange for “services for seniors and youths, followed by public safety and parks and recreation.” The majority of respondents were between 45 and 65 — homeowning baby boomers.
