A Log Beauty on a Creek in Phoenicia for $945K

  |  September 15, 2022

We end this week’s foray into Phoenicia with this show-stopper of a log home on the banks of Woodland Creek.

It’s got three bedrooms and 2.5 baths in 2,170 square feet.

You almost cannot get any more “waterfront” than this.

Inside, the decor is woodsy but still elegant, with hardwood floors and wood-plank walls and vaulted ceilings. A cute red woodstove is in the living room, not far from a spiral staircase in the same fire-engine red that curls its way up to the second story.

The kitchen is anchored with a granite-slab island that seats three. Cabinets are a mix of light wood tone and cherry stain, and the stainless-steel appliances are cleverly angled to provide a good work triangle.

A half-bath is tucked conveniently into a corner off the kitchen.

There’s a dining room off the kitchen, too.

The primary bedroom is on the main floor. It has light hardwood floors, and sliders out to the patio and creek.

The ensuite bath has a double-sink vanity; walk-in tiled shower; and a step-up soaking tub.

This walk-in closet has a hardwood floor and lots of storage space.

If you need to head upstairs, but don’t feel like walking in circles on your way up there, the house does have a traditional staircase.

This bedroom is small (9’x10′), and is currently in use as a home office. There’s home-office space at the top of the spiral stairs, too.

This bedroom’s slightly bigger and has a double-doored closet.

The two bedrooms share this bath, which has the same tile on the vanity (with a cool glass-vessel sink) as it does in the shower.

The house sits on a little over a third of an acre, and is about a 10-minute drive to the Phoenicia Diner, Rail Explorers, and the Emerson Resort & Spa.
