Catskill Log Home with Mountain Views, $600K

  |  November 23, 2022

Today’s Catskill pick is a log beauty in a woodsy setting near the Kaaterskill Creek.

It measures 1,386 square feet, and has an outdoor covered balcony as well as a covered front porch. Check out that gazebo on the side deck, too.

The current owner likes purple, as evidenced by the wall-to-wall carpeting in the living room. The Beaver Mountain log-home construction is visible on the interior as well, with hewn log walls and timber beams. There’s more purple behind that ottoman…

…and a bed. Lack of privacy notwithstanding, it’s good to know there’s room for a first-floor bedroom here.

It’s tucked under the open staircase leading upstairs.

The kitchen and dining area are in another room. They share a hardwood floor, and there’s a mullioned glass door out to the deck.

Rafter ceilings make the space a little dark, but aren’t log homes supposed to be cozy, after all?

Granite counters sit atop cherry cabinets, and the log walls form the backsplash.

The main-floor bath has a corner shower and a washer and dryer.

The staircase is the same hewn wood as the walls. There’s a landing halfway, to give you a breather on the way up.

A loft space currently serves as one sleeping area.

The primary bedroom has more purple carpeting and wood-mullioned glass sliders out to the private balcony.

Another bedroom has big windows, and carpeting that needs an update.

The house has a full, unfinished basement. Outside, there are two sheds and a carport.

The house is located on four acres, with direct access to the Kaaterskill Creek along with this gorgeous Catskills view.
