First-Time Homebuyers: Yes, You CAN Live in Westchester County for less than $250,000
Upstater Staff | December 13, 2016The prospect of moving upstate becomes a lot less daunting when you find a cute, affordable home to move to. No easy task in Westchester County, but Peekskill is where we discovered this three-bedroom, 1800 square foot home.
Located a half-mile from the Peekskill train station, the home includes an enclosed front porch with charming window panes, living room with high ceilings, cute kitchen, and formal dining room with hardwood floors and built-in china hutch. Also comes with a finished attic room that needs some love and attention. In fact, the whole house could use a dose of creativity, but the raw materials are strong.
The lot is a small one-tenth of an acre, but there’s a fenced-in backyard with room for a garden bed. Plus, it’s a quick walk to the middle school across the street and Peekskill High School a few blocks away. Also a few blocks away: Peekskill’s restaurants, theater, and shops. Property taxes are approx. $9500/year.
235 Ringgold Street, Peekskill (Houlihan Lawrence)
