With the flooding that took place during yesterday’s rainstorms with still more on the way (read all about it at Hudson Valley Weather), it almost seems like sacrilege to feature a house on a stream. But we’re all pretty aware of the risks involved with waterfront living, and we can certainly look at this Margaretville cottage in Delaware County and drool a little in good fun. The design hits the spot, even if the declaration of “HIPSTER KITSCH” plastered over the first picture featured in the listing made us cringe a bit. How about just straight-up adorable? Can we agree to set aside our need to hipsterize everything and just enjoy a property with a retro sensibility? Dare to dream. Anyway, this gold nugget of a 2 bed/1 bath cabin is located on over an acre streamside complete with swimming holes 5 miles from the village of Margaretville. We’d suggest that this might make a good summer/weekend residence, but we’re not sure we could bring ourselves to leave it.
