Million-Dollar Design for $399,900 in Poughquag, Dutchess Co.
Kandy Harris | February 24, 2015The listing price of this 2001 Contemporary glass, stone, and wood wonder in Dutchess County shocked us a little, considering that we’ve seen similar houses in cheaper areas on less land for much more money. Aside from its design, that’s what struck us as the most unusual aspect of this property. It is, however, located pretty far east in Dutchess County, putting it squarely in farm country, and that might account for the price. Regardless, it’s stunning with dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows, a sleek interior design, and the snazziest tiny loft fashioned from wooden rafters that would make a perfect spot for sharing a meal or partaking in a spot of meditation. And how about the giant bay window with the slate flooring? Privacy comes with it, too. There’s hardly a house in sight if you take a look at the aerial view on Google Maps. Sadly, if it seems too good to be true, it probably isn’t. The property taxes made us shed a single, solitary tear.
