Pleasant Valley Cheapie with a Nice Interior, $99,999
Kandy Harris | May 29, 2015We are sad to report that there aren’t a lot of five-figure properties worth mentioning in our East-of-Hudson Trio (Cold Spring/Beacon/Garrison). Even mostly-affordable Beacon doesn’t offer much for under $100,000. However, we did find this 19th century house in the Dutchess County hamlet of Pleasant Valley. We didn’t expect much from the interior, but we were pleasantly (see what we did there?) surprised by the interior. Wood floors, pressed tin ceilings, a roomy kitchen, and 3 bedrooms round it out, plus a lot size of close to a quarter-acre round out the bargain here, although the exterior needs some more love. Flooding is a concern given its proximity to Wappinger Creek, which borders the back yard and flows under the Main Street overpass. Poughkeepsie is 15 minutes away.
99 South Avenue, Pleasant Valley (Winners Circle Properties)
