Pre-Revolutionary War Stone House in New Baltimore, $379,000
Kandy Harris | March 18, 2015Don’t expect every line in the main house at Deepe Clove Kill Farm to be plumb. It’s a stone antique with all the charm, wonky sloping floors, and low ceilings (those beams!) of something built in 1742. While certain things like the kitchen have been updated, the stone walls were kept intact, which is a nice touch. Overall, it’s beautiful, just as we expect an old stone house to be. But probably not if you’re very tall. We’re growing them taller these days here in upstate New York, so some of these 18th century houses are starting to look like miniature versions of themselves. The landscaping here, however, is lush, and the property size spacious at 15 acres. Includes barns, silos, and other outbuildings, as well as a wee pond with a water fall and flower gardens galore. Located mid-way between Hannacroix and New Baltimore in Greene County, about 2 miles in from the Hudson River.
