Rare Italianate Victorian in Delaware County, $245,000
Kandy Harris | December 29, 2015We have a rule of thumb here at Upstater: When we find an Italianate Victorian, we post about it. So here’s a pleasant surprise in the Delaware County hamlet of Treadwell. Built in 1848, this pretty jewelry box features some stunning exterior details like the window trim and brackets. Built in 1868, the home’s listing purports that it might have been a stop on the Underground Railroad, which is beyond intriguing, so if there any town of Franklin/Delaware County historians are out there who can verify this juicy piece of local history, let us know.
The interior is currently set up as a rental/art studio and includes 4 beds/2 baths, 1800 sq. ft., big country kitchen, art studio, and carpentry workshop. We love how well cared-for this vintage house is and yet clearly still loved and used by its current owners. Sits on an acre in Treadwell, approximately 15 minutes west of Delhi. Here’s a link to a helpful video that gives you more of the lay of the land.
