Sprawling Turn-of-the-Century Victorian in Saugerties Village, $259,000
Kandy Harris | November 4, 2015
Formerly a law office two times over, this nearly 4000 square foot Victorian sits right in the heart of Saugerties village, walking distance to restaurants, shops, schools, the Esopus Creek, the UCAT bus stop (right across the street at the Post Office), parks, etc. I’ve also seen the interior with my own two eyeballs, and the word “spacious” might be a bit of an understatement. It’s quite huge with high ceilings, parquet and wood floors, architectural details by the pound (love love love the moldings and fireplaces), and, according to the listing, it could “easily” be converted back to a single-family home. That seems to be the case, but it’s going to need a proper kitchen. If you’re one of those people who love a parade, you’ll get a front-row seat to all of them from here (it also means you won’t be able to leave your house while said parade is happening, but that’s the price we pay for living in Saugerties). When the snow hits, you’ll be thankful for how close it’s located to the Thruway exit and the ability to walk to the Dutch Ale House for a burger and adult beverage.
Interested? There’s an open house scheduled for Sunday, November 8 6pm-8pm. Go check it out with your own two eyeballs.
