Stone Ridge Farmhouse on Tree-Lined Main Street, $179,900
Kandy Harris | March 25, 2015For a tiny Ulster County hamlet, Stone Ridge has a surprising amount of amenities. There are several restaurant options along Main Street, including a breakfast/lunch cafe, a place to get good bagels, and two options for sushi. You can also find yoga, a decent public library, a community center, a gym, a wine shop, a high-end grocery store, and a private school. This affordable farmhouse is situated near all of this, and although Main Street/Route 209 doesn’t have much in the way of sidewalks or even a wide shoulder upon which to walk, one could still walk to quite a bit from here. The house itself has a ton of potential, even if you’re not a big fan of mint-green shag carpeting or old floral wallpaper. We love the wood floors and stone walls in particular, and it even comes with a pretty big three-quarters of an acre-sized yard.
