This Rhinebeck Two-Bedroom is Under $100K, But Needs a Lot of Work

  |  October 22, 2022

A house in Rhinebeck for under $100,000? It’s possible, but you’ll need to work hard on this one.

This two-bedroom, one-bath ranch measures just 480 square feet, and it does need a lot of work. But the petite size is a benefit, in that there’s not a lot of space that’s available to update.

The front door opens into the kitchen and living room. The living room floor was taken up, probably due to water damage or mold.

The kitchen tucks a lot of cabinets into a small space. Of course, the new owner would want to replace them.

The bathroom is surprisingly spacious, too, fitting a good-sized vanity and a full tub/shower combo.

And behind the door is room for a stackable washer/dryer.

The first bedroom indicates that yes, there was water or mold damage here. But it looks like it’s been mitigated, and it’s just waiting for a full renovation.

This bedroom is in better shape, but still needs a new floor.

The house sits on just over a tenth of an acre, and includes this shed (that probably isn’t a whole lot smaller than the house). The property is halfway between Route 9G and the Taconic State Parkway, and the listing says there may be an option to get lake rights to nearby Silver Lake. All that—even with the fact that this is a “big project” house—makes it quite the bargain.
