Friday Real Estate Porn: Austerlitz Contemporary, $1,675,000
Upstater | June 22, 2012
We’re surprised the Beale Road House was built in the 1980s (not our favorite period for architecture). This home in Spencertown/Austerlitz is surrounded by four ponds, on 38 acres, and evokes Ms. Havisham, or the setting for a Merchant-Ivory film. It was once featured in House & Garden magazine, hence the pretty photos.
The house is modestly-sized for a luxury pad: two beds, two baths, 2,500 square feet. You’re paying for the design, the land, the landscaping. We’re particularly fond of the screened in porch, and its precisely placed antler decor.
280 Beale Road, Austerlitz, NY. $1,675,000. GMAP.
