This Week on Upstater: Hudson Valley Commercial Properties On the Market
Kandy Harris | August 14, 2017
21 Fitch Street, Kingston: $489,900
Last week on Upstater, we featured this Gothic stone church in downtown Kingston, zoned for commercial/industrial use. Currently a textile factory, the church is a far cry from the squat office buildings, warehouse spaces, and retail storefronts we associate with the term “commercial real estate,” but this week you’ll see that in the Hudson Valley and the Catskills, commercial properties come in all shapes, sizes, styles, and functions. And, importantly, all range of prices.
Here’s the deal: The area in which we Upstaters live is experiencing a boom. We recently told you that Hudson Valley tourism bucks soared to $3.5 billion in 2016, so it’s not absurd to think that investing in the area might not be such a bad idea. If you’re considering it, this is the week for you, because we’ll be sifting the commercial real estate listings on the market and presenting a snapshot of what the Hudson Valley and Catskills have to offer someone looking to invest a community. Stay tuned…
